Tualatin Elementary Arts Foundation, or TEAF, is our amazing after school arts program! For over two decades, TEAF provides the opportunity for students to stay an extra hour after school to participate in a variety of fun, exciting, and enriching classes and activities. TEAF offers three terms per school year (Fall, Winter, and Spring) during which students can pick from a variety of classes - including the arts, athletics, performance, academic intervention, and STEM. Currently our program offers classes such as: Lego Robotics, gardening, marimba, drama club, hip hop, homework club, arts and crafts, cooking, Black Bear T.V., chess, and more to students after school.

Mission Statement

Tualatin Elementary Arts Foundation (TEAF) is a school enrichment program with emphasis on the arts and academics. It is designed to provide children with a variety of artistic, cultural, academic, recreational classes and clubs.

Instructional Time

Classes will run from 2:30-3:30 pm. Following each class, students will be escorted to their designated pickup area by 3:35 pm. Parent/guardian pick-up will be in the Rotunda after check-out with their TEAF Instructor. Students who will be walking home alone, will need to check-out with their TEAF Instructor before they can leave. Students riding the TEAF Bus will wait in the Library with the TEAF Coordinator until the bus arrives. Club K and SOAR students will return to their after-school care program.

Snack Procedure

Snacks are available for students preceding class. Two snacks are made available, and students may choose one, or both, options. If your student has any dietary restrictions, or allergies, please make a note of it on the registration paperwork. If families would prefer, students are welcome to bring their own healthy snack from home, but all snacks must be nut-free.

Behavioral Expectations

We expect students to follow the same rules that are in place during the school day of being safe, kind and responsible while in their after-school classes. Disciplinary procedure follows that which is outlined in the Student Handbook. Repeated disruptive behavior may result in removal from any TEAF activity.

Transportation

Bus transportation is provided for all students wishing to take a TEAF class. This route is specifically designed for TEAF students based on their registration addresses – these are NOT the regular school bus stops. If your student needs to be dropped off at a childcare provider, please provide that address on your registration form. All addresses must be within the regular school boundary. The TEAF Bus leaves Tualatin Elementary at approximately 4:00 pm and may drop students off as late as 5:00 pm depending on the length of that day’s route. Bus riders will receive an estimated time for drop-off prior to the TEAF term starting. Please call Student Transportation of America at 503.372.5704 for issues after 4:00 pm. Please note, no additional addresses can be added to the bus list after the first week of TEAF.

Attendance

If your student will be absent from their TEAF class or have a change in transportation, please contact the TEAF Coordinator, Ashley Young, by 2:30 pm by calling the main office: 503.431.4800, so a message can be delivered.
